New platform brings together expertise on Switzerland's financial centre

The event is intended to take place annually in the future, each year in collaboration with a member institution. It will provide a platform that brings together different perspectives from the Swiss banking sector and strengthens professional exchange.

In terms of content, the Industry Forum builds on the SBA's two established studies, the Banking Barometer and the Swiss Banking Outlook. While the Banking Barometer analyses developments in the Swiss banking sector over the past year, the Swiss Banking Outlook brings together the assessments of leading experts from member institutions regarding the future prospects of Switzerland's financial centre. Together, the two studies provide a well-founded basis for understanding economic developments and industry trends.
 

A broad industry perspective on one panel

To launch the Swiss Banking Branchenforum 2026 experts from different banking groups and market segments will discuss the findings of the Banking Barometer and the Swiss Banking Outlook, as well as their significance for Switzerland's financial centre, under the moderation of Tanya König. The panel includes:

• Dr Martin Hess, Chief Economist and Head of Economic Policy, Swiss Banking
• Dr Anja Hochberg, Chief Investment Officer, Zürcher Kantonalbank
• Renato Flückiger, Chief Investment Officer, Valiant Bank
• Anastassios Frangulidis, Head of Swiss Multi Asset – Zurich, Pictet Asset Management

The programme will also feature presentations of the key findings from the studies and opportunities for direct exchange with experts from member banks. The focus of the inaugural event is the competitiveness of Switzerland's financial centre.

With the new Event, the SBA is establishing an annual format that connects the insights from the Banking Barometer and the Swiss Banking Outlook with the current debate on Switzerland's financial centre.
